A Traveler’s Thoughts

During the month of October, I was privileged to speak fourteen times in seven different states. It was an exhausting but exhilarating and encouraging month. While I hate to be away from my own church, seeing what God was doing in these places was encouraging.

One personal highlight of the trip was seeing a portion of Spurgeon’s library at Midwestern Baptist Seminary where I was speaking. I was able to hold Spurgeon’s Bible for a few moments and look through the pages. It was incredible to think that the Prince of all Preachers had held that Bible and proclaimed its truth.

This last trip has taken me everywhere from the cities of Cairo and Ellaville in Georgia to Lenexa, Kansas to Washington, D.C. to Mobile, Alabama. Many of the speaking engagements were with a wide variety of leaders, including pastors, staff, seminary students and college faculty. I’ve just returned from Mobile, Alabama. The four days in Alabama were blessed of God. Each night there were at least 800 people present for the revival, and we saw the glory of God come down. Hundreds came to the altar to get things right with God. It encouraged me to know that God will always show up when He finds a people and a place where He is longed for.
