In an effort to better understand the nation’s 78 million Millennials–those born between 1980 and 2000–Thom Rainer and his son Jess, who was born in 1985, conducted interviews with 1,200 Millennials. Their findings include: – Millennials are perhaps the least religious generation in American history–only 13 percent said any type of spirituality is important to them. – They don’t put much value in marriage. Only 15 percent are married, compaired to 44 percent in that age group who were married in 1970. – They aren’t workaholics. More than 80 percent said job success is importatn to them but not in lieu of fun with friends and family. – They don’t trust politicians, but they look to government to provide solutions to social problems, including health care and retirement funding.
