Commuter Marriage

A growing number of married couples in the U.S. are now choosing to live apart. Known as “commuter marriage,” nearly 3.5 million couples are currently living apart for reasons other than legal separation. The number has doubled over the last 20 years, with only 1.7 million couples living apart in 1990.
