A Hope that Endures

1 Thessalonians 1:3

Three adjectives descriptive of hope:

  • Good (2 Thess. 2:16)
  • Blessed (Titus 2:13)
  • Living (1 Peter 1:3)

I. Hope Depends on Perspective

II. The Basis of Our Hope

A) God has promised us eternal life.
B) God has promised us a resurrected body.
C) God has promised us that Jesus is coming back.

III. The Application of Hope in Daily Living

  • There’s no place for idolatry. (1:10)
  • There’s no place for laziness. (2:18, 20)
  • There’s no place for fussing and fighting.
  • There’s no place for ignorance. (4:13)
  • There’s no place for indifference. (5:23)
