June 3, 1932 – FDR says, “I pledge you, I pledge myself, to a new deal for the American people.” On this date in 1942, the United States wins a strategic battle at Midway.
June 4, 1070 – Roquefort cheese is discovered near Roquefort, France; Rome is liberated from Nazi Germany on this date in 1944; Supreme Court strikes down the Alabama law permitting a ‘moment of silence’ in public schools, in 1985.
June 8, 1794 – Christianity is deposed by French revolutionaries and replaced by a deistic religion. Churches were renamed ‘Temples of Reason.’
